Where the blues can be seen and heard
|
I discovered Blues music on my first trip to San Francisco in the late 80's One afternoon I strolled into Lou's Blue's Bar on the Wharf and didn't leave until the morning hours rolled around...and I was back there everday of my visit.
The Dukes of Destiny came into my life in 1990 and have become a part of my life ever since. The Randy Lippicott Band, Zydeco-a-go-go and many other local bands are at the core of my musical soul.
I still travel a lot, but often to the islands. These photos are from Mexico and Jamaica as well as New Orleans and other home grown locales.

As of October 2006, I am the captain of my own destiny, literally and figuratively. I just purchased a CruiseOne franchise specializing in individual, corporate, and group cruises with emphasis on creating fundraising and educational programs at sea. Previously my professional life was as vp of special events and marketing for the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey which required a much more buttoned up approach than pictured here. My off hours are often spent hanging out in clubs, dancing to music and traveling to island get-aways. Negril Jamaica is the home of my favorite resort. When you know me better, I'll tell you which one (wink, wink). Suffice it to say, it's all good, mon.
On the local front, my home away from home haunts are Warmdaddy's on Tuesday nights and The Mermaid Inn, North by Northwest, Red, Hot & Blue and any where else any of "my" bands are playing.

You can't be into the Blues and Zydeco music and not have pangs to visit Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans. This photo is from New Orleans Feb 2004. I've been to Chicago a few times, but have yet to make it to Memphis.

Other interests: I am the president of the Northeast High School Alumni Association and class rep for NEHS 137 (that's class of '78 for all you non-Northeasters!)
I also sit on the event committee for the Annual Camden Waterfront Barbecue Blues Festival scheduled for early summer 2007.
I served as president of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in Communications from 1996-2000. I am a member of AWC, PPRA, and participate in events with other local communications organizations.
